Season two of Monk began airing on June 20, 2003 on USA Network. The second season concluded after 16 episodes on March 5, 2004.

This season introduces Randy Newman's It's a Jungle Out There as the main title theme, replacing the original theme by Jeff Beal that was used for Season 1.

The second season of Monk consisted of 16 episodes and was split into two halves. The first nine episodes aired in the summer of 2003, while the final seven episodes began airing on January 16, 2004. The season was released on DVD on October 12, 2004 and on Blu-Ray on December 19, 2023.
